General Summary:

 

Responsible for purchasing and negotiating prices for office supplies and coordinating the budget to according to company guidelines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to accountabilities below):

 

  • Purchasing and negotiating pricing of office supplies, furniture, consumables and other equipment.
  • Coordinate the bid process and maintain contact with vendors regarding quotations and bids
  • Maintain budget and control cost within company guidelines
  • Review requisitions from each department for pricing, product quality and delivery concerns
  • Provide information regarding availability of certain goods and services that may be requested
  • Prepare necessary documentation to purchase goods and/or services
  • Maintain vendor lists with contact personnel for each supplier
  • Assist in the preparation of contractual documents and approvals from management
  • Prepare and maintain fixed asset reports

QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Competencies):

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two years experience in purchasing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
 

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Some automotive insurance experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • SAP knowledge preferred
